Mother Nurture Daughter Bond Blog
This past weekend, camp was filled one last time for the 2013 summer with almost 80 moms and daughters for Kupugani’s annual Mother-Daughter Weekend. It was an amazing weekend. Moms and daughters participated in Teams activities, camptivities, and enjoyed one another’s company and the beautiful forestry our camp has to offer. The experiences had with campers during the Kupugani sessions are moving and impactful on their own; experiencing those same activities alongside the mothers of the girls impacted our staff greatly. We truly saw the strong impact and love our Kupugani moms have for their daughters.
Being able to watch that love and impact evolve even further over just a few days was thrilling! During one Team Building activity called Lifts, campers lift one person at a time as a team towards the sky. I saw daughters go up with ease and a smile on their face. I saw moms go up willingly as well as hesitantly. Some even shed tears on their way back down to the ground, filled with rushing emotion from the weekend’s activities and the extraordinary feat just overcome. It was such an honor to have such wonderful company to celebrate the end of a fantastic Kupugani summer! Continue to be strong, empowered, world changing men and women! See you in June!
