On this Magical Monday, the campers enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes and sausage. In our teams, we talked about different styles of relationships and how we can better seek healthy friendships. After we finished, the campers had their recess time. Some of them played 9-Square, some made friendship bracelets, and some relaxed and chatted with their friends. It’s Cabin Day! Today the campers woke up on the (surprisingly comfortable) sports courts after NUTS (Night Under The Stars) and headed to the dining hall with their cabin mates for a lazy breakfast of donuts, cereal, and yogurt. After breakfast, we gathered for Morning Circle and took cabin group and all-camp pictures. On this Super Saturday, the counselors and campers played to a hard-earned tie with the campers in a close match in the staff vs. campers soccer game. The counselors took a quick two-goal lead, but the campers battled back to cut it to a one-goal deficit before the intermission. In the latter part of the game, the campers made a frenzied comeback to tie the game in regulation right before the final whistle. On this Terrific Thursday, all of the campers woke up around 7 and got ready for the day. They headed to morning circle and then enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, oranges, and Natasha’s renowned coffee cake – always a big hit among the campers. After some camp chores, the campers broke into their teams for team-building activities including lineups, stand ups, and hula-hoop passes. On this Wonderful Wednesday, our early birds woke up at 6 am for a session of morning 9-square. For breakfast we enjoyed some French Toast and sausages. After breakfast, we broke off into teams and discussed the importance of using “I” statements rather than “you” statements. Today we welcomed our wonderful campers through a drive-through check in. They checked in meds and unloaded their luggage. After the girls said goodbye to their families, we took them to their cabins to get settled in. There, they figured out their sleeping arrangements and met their new cabin mates.They spent some time there waiting for everyone to arrive, playing name games and getting familiar with each other. We had quite an eventful and Terrific Thursday. We started off with a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, English muffins, and fruit salad. After we ate, we took care of some camp chores, and then the teams spent the morning doing some initiatives. After a tasty lunch of locally-raised beef burgers, chips, and spinach salad, the camp enjoyed Siesta before getting ready to start the Kupu Olympics! Today was Backwards Day here at ampC inagupuK! The campers showed up to Morning Circle (er…correction, for the Goodnight Song) with hoodies, shirts and hats on backwards. They said good evening in the morning and good morning in the evening. They had dinner (chicken and waffles) for breakfast and breakfast (pancakes and turkey sausage) for dinner.
