Day 6 at Blended One: Summer Camp Adventures Continue
Today marked the sixth day of camp with our Blended One campers, and what a day it was! The campers woke up bright and early (although no longer with Early Birds available since everyone is on “camp time” now)–ready for another exciting day filled with activities and learning. As they gathered for our morning circle (in the Rec Hall, since it was a bit drizzly this morning), an inspiring quote from Andrew Carnegie about leadership concluded the circle. Afterward, they enjoyed a hearty breakfast of English muffins and eggs.
The morning was packed with engaging activities. First, the campers participated in camp chores, fostering a sense of responsibility. Then, they dove into conflict resolution exercises, including fun games like Zip Zap Zop and Fishbowl. These activities helped them develop crucial skills in a playful environment. Later, they had some free time during recess before lunch.
Afternoon Adventures and Evening Fun
After a restful siesta, the afternoon was filled with more excitement. The campers participated in swim evaluations, using our newly renovated pool (complete with racing swim lanes and turn targets). After La Tienda time, the second camptivity slot had recreation, pool time, climbing, and fishing. As evening approached, the campers cleaned up and prepared for dinner. The BBQ chicken was a hit!
The night ended with fun activities like Four Corners for the older campers and a Gaga and Kickball Tournament for the younger ones. Before lights out, each cabin held an appreciation circle, allowing campers to reflect on their day and express gratitude for their peers. It was a perfect way to wind down after such an action-packed day.
Day 6 was filled with learning, fun, and personal growth. From conflict resolution exercises to outdoor adventures, the campers experienced various activities that fostered individual and team skills. Are you jealous yet?
