An Empowering Cabin Sunday at Blended One
DOMINGO DE CABAÑA CITA DEL DÍA: “Algunas personas entran en nuestras vidas y se van rápidamente. Algunas personas mueven nuestras almas a bailar. Nos despiertan a una nueva comprensión con el susurro pasajero de su sabiduría. Algunas personas hacen que el cielo sea más hermoso de contemplar. Permanecen en nuestras vidas por un tiempo, dejan huellas en nuestros corazones y nunca, jamás, somos los mismos”. – Flavia Weedn
Today started off with the camp waking up from a little sleep in after a movie night under the stars. (The usual sleeping outside overnight all night was adjusted due to the chance–and actuality–of rain overnight.)
Today was Cabin Day! Cabins enjoyed a lazy breakfast anywhere between 8-10am. Breakfast was a surprise treat–delicious donuts! Each cabin had their folks switch beds so everyone could start off the week in a different spot. After breakfast, they had our Morning Circle ending with camp pictures. Today’s lunch was a cabin hike and picnic lunch in different parts of camp. During their lunch time, each cabin worked on their song and skits, which were performed after dinner. Cabin activities today were cabin choice and not regular camptivities–to help the campers and counselors bond. Camptivities included playing card games, games, bracelet making etc. and were spent as a cabin group. The second camptivity was spent as a whole camp–waterfront activities! Mud volleyball, dam jumping, waterfall, river stomp, and lake play were on the agenda on a sunny, warm Sunday. The evening activity had the cabins performing their skits and songs for the whole camp in the Rec Hall. Overall, it was another great day at camp!
