A Day in the Life of Senior Girls Session Campers: Leadership, Fun, and Growth
Today was an exciting day for our senior campers as they took charge of running the camp! The day kicked off bright and early with some invigorating yoga and stretching for our early birds. After the wake-up bell, everyone gathered for a community meeting where we reflected on the quote of the day: “Conflict, when handled correctly, strengthens.” This powerful message from Benjamin Watson set the tone for a day filled with learning and personal growth.
Morning Activities: Team Building and Outdoor Adventures
Following a delicious breakfast of coffee cake, eggs, and fruit, our campers dove into team-building exercises. They learned about conflict styles and management, which are crucial skills for young leaders. Afterwards, the campers split into groups for their morning activities. Some explored nature and practiced meditation, while others tried their hand at archery or embarked on a challenging hike. These diverse activities not only provided fun but also fostered personal development and teamwork.
Afternoon Fun: From Pool Time to Sports
After a restful siesta, the afternoon was packed with exciting camptivities. The campers cooled off in the pool, got creative with bracelet making in arts and crafts, and enjoyed some friendly competition in sand volleyball. Later, they had the choice of soccer, kickball, or 9 square and spikeball. These activities not only provided entertainment but also encouraged physical activity and social interaction. The day wrapped up with a hearty dinner of hamburgers, followed by evening activities including the popular Blob Tag and a meaningful campfire session focused on “The Color of Friendship.” As the campers returned to their cabins for reflection time and lights out, we couldn’t help but wonder: what valuable life lessons did our campers learn from their day of fun?
