A Fun Wednesday at Kupugani Girls Session
The day began bright and early for our campers. Some early birds even got a head start with arts and crafts before the official wake-up call. After rising, everyone gathered for our daily community gathering. Today’s inspiring quote was from William James: “Whenever you’re in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude.” This set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Morning Activities and Team Building
Following a hearty breakfast of French Toast (toast? … all the way from France?), sausages, and fruit, and after their camp chores, the campers dove into morning team activities. These included important exercises like check-ins, cooling-off techniques, and learning to use “I-statements.” Afterward, the kids enjoyed some free time during recess. Lunchtime rolled around, and everyone refueled with delicious Mac N’ Cheese, BBQ pulled pork, and salad before settling in for a restful camp-wide siesta.
Afternoon Adventures
The afternoon was packed with exciting camptivities. First up, campers had their choice of tennis, pool time, or rock climbing. Later, they switched gears for the second round, choosing between basketball, archery, or more climbing. These activities not only provided fun but also helped build skills and confidence. The day’s adventures worked up quite an appetite, and dinner featuring Miss Natasha’s sweet and sour chicken, rice, and salad was a welcome sight.
Evening Excitement and Reflection
The highlight of the evening was an exhilarating game of Capture the Flag in the top field. Afterward, campers returned to their cabins for an important debrief session. They discussed how well they were following their cabin contracts and addressed any conflicts or needed adjustments. This reflection time is crucial for building strong relationships and problem-solving skills.
Wrapping Up Another Great Day
As lights went out, the campers drifted off to sleep, tired but happy. They’re looking forward to tomorrow’s special event: Seniors Run Camp! It’s been another day filled with growth, friendship, and new experiences. We can’t help but wonder, what amazing memories will your child make tomorrow?
