Wonderful Wednesday at Blended Two!
On this Wonderful Wednesday, our early birds woke up at 6 am for a session of berry picking. For breakfast, we enjoyed some French Toast and turkey sausages, along with the berries picked from the early bird! After breakfast, we broke off into teams and discussed the importance of using “I” statements rather than “you” statements. We also came up with skits to practice using I-statements and The Clean Up (a way to take ownership of our actions and the impact they have on others). After teams, we had about an hour of recess time which our campers used to play volleyball, basketball, 9-square, and hang out with friends on the top field. This time is allotted to campers so that they have a chance to enjoy camp without highly structured activities. For lunch, we had pulled pork and mac and cheese. After the delicious meal, the campers headed to Siesta. Rain was on the forecast for today, so for the first camptivity, the campers participated in a fort-building contest, with Gandhi coming out on top. A snack from La Tienda came next, and then the campers broke into their second activities. No more rain, so back to the regularly scheduled activities of Soccer, Recreation, or Kickball. The campers were then ready to eat dinner. After the dinner of sweet and sour chicken with rice and veggies, the campers headed out to the top field for a great game of Capture the Flag. After that evening activity, our campers then settled down in the cabin for a lovely night of sleep. What a great way to end day 4!
