Blended Day 9: More Kupugani Adventures
Yesterday marked the 9th full day of our summer camp, and what an exciting day it was! The campers woke up bright and early at 7:00 am, ready for a day filled with fun activities and learning experiences. As they gathered for the community meeting, they were greeted with an inspiring quote from Anne Frank: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
After a hearty breakfast of English muffins (“muffins all the way from England!”) with eggs and bacon, the campers dove into their daily activities. First up was the economic literacy module, where they engaged in team-building exercises and discussions. The morning flew by with exciting camptivities like arts and crafts, nature walks, archery, and challenge hikes.
Afternoon Fun and Evening Reflections
The afternoon was equally thrilling, with campers participating in various sports and creative activities. Today’s dinner from Miss Natasha’s kitchen was Taco Tuesday–with locally sourced ground beef as one of the ingredients.
As the day wound down, the camp came alive with the energy of the untalent show preparations. The evening was filled with an impactful “Forced Choices” activity for the older campers and fun games for the younger ones. Finally, as the stars began to twinkle, campers returned to their cabins for heartfelt discussions about their biggest challenges and life stories. As the lights went out at 9:45 pm, the campers drifted off to sleep, their minds full of memories and their hearts eager for the next day’s adventures. Isn’t it amazing how much growth and joy can be packed into a single day at summer camp?
