A Tuesday in the Life of Blended Two: Excitement, Learning, and Fun!
Hey there, camp parents! What a day it’s been here at our summer camp. This morning, we kicked things off bright and early with our community gathering. The quote of the day really set the tone for our activities, reminding us all about the interconnectedness of global issues and the importance of holistic solutions.
After a hearty breakfast of bagels with a variety of topping options, our campers dove into their morning activities. First up were team-building exercises, which included the always-popular Human Knot game. Then, we split into groups for specialized activities. The Abantu group got creative with bracelet making, while the Anthropoi group explored nature and practiced meditation. Meanwhile, the Watu group tested their aim at archery, and the Hitobito group embarked on an exciting challenge hike. After lunch, which was a delicious chili accompanied by grilled cheese sandwiches, garlic bread and more, and a restful siesta, the afternoon was packed with even more fun. Some campers went horseback riding, while others enjoyed sports like kickball and basketball. We even had a group preparing for our upcoming “Untalent Show” – it’s sure to be a riot!
Evening Activities and Looking Ahead
As the day wound down, we gathered for dinner, some amazing tacos (yay for locally-raised ground beef!) from Miss Natasha’s kitchen. The excitement was palpable as we revealed tomorrow’s theme: Backwards Day! Our evening activities included the intriguing Rafa Rafa game for the older campers, while the younger ones had a blast with Blob Tag, gaga, and 9-square. Before lights out, we had a special cabin activity where campers shared their biggest challenges, fostering a sense of trust and camaraderie among bunkmates. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we’re all eager to see how our campers will embrace the Backwards Day theme. Will they wear their clothes backward? Eat dessert first? Walk backward to activities? The possibilities are endless! As we wrap up this incredible day, we can’t help but wonder: what amazing memories will your children create tomorrow?
