Crazy Hair / Hat Day at Blended One!
A Day of Fun and Learning at Kupugani
Last week, our campers had an exciting day filled with activities and learning experiences. The theme for the day was “Crazy Hair/Hat Day,” which added an extra layer of fun to the already vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, the day’s module focused on conflict resolution, an essential life skill for our young campers.
The day kicked off early with archery for our early birds. Then, after wake-up and cabin clean-up, everyone gathered for our morning circle. During this time, we shared the quote of the day by Dorothy Thompson, which emphasized the importance of finding creative alternatives to conflict. Following another delicious breakfast from Miss Natasha–toast, from France? (“Oh yeah, French Toast, Kevin!”)–campers engaged in their daily chores before diving into the conflict resolution module. This session included activities like “Stop, Cool off, Take a Deep Breath” and “I-Statements,” which taught valuable techniques for managing disagreements. Afterwards, the campers enjoyed recess in the top field, letting off steam and putting their new skills into practice.
Afternoon Adventures and Evening Fun
The afternoon was packed with exciting camptivities. Some campers tried their hand at basketball or arts and crafts, while others enjoyed canoeing and paddleboarding. Additionally, a group of lucky campers went horseback riding off-site. After a refreshing siesta, the second round of camptivities included archery, crate stacking, and rock climbing. These activities not only provided fun but also opportunities for teamwork and personal growth.
After a tasty dinner of sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and green beans, the day concluded with a thrilling game of Capture the Flag, followed by cabin discussions. As the lights went out, our campers drifted off to sleep, their minds full of new experiences and friendships. It was truly a day to remember at Camp Kupugani. Don’t you wish you could have been there to join in the fun?
