Day 5 in the Life of Blended One: Conflict Resolution and Fun at Camp Kupugani
Hey there, Camp Kupugani parents! We had another exciting day at camp, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Thursday was all about conflict resolution, teamwork, and, of course, tons of fun! The day kicked off bright and early with yoga at 6:00 am for our early birds. At morning circle, non-early-birds started the day with an inspiring quote from William James: “Whenever you’re in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude.”
After breakfast (Miss Natasha’s famous coffee cake and scrambled eggs), we dove into our conflict resolution module. The campers learned about different conflict styles and management techniques. It was amazing to see how quickly they grasped these important life skills! Afterward, we split into teams for morning activities. Some groups headed to arts and crafts to make name tags, while others went on a nature walk or tried their hand at archery.
Afternoon Adventures and Evening Excitement
After a hearty lunch of hot dogs and sweet potato tots, it was time for siesta. Then, the real fun began! Campers had a blast with afternoon activities like challenge hikes, lake play, and rock climbing. Some lucky campers even got to go horseback riding. The evening brought more excitement with a game of Blob Tag and our second campfire of the session. We ended the night with our traditional goodnight song and some quiet reflection time in the cabins.
Wrapping Up Another Fantastic Day
Throughout the day, we emphasized our culture of kindness and the importance of attitude in resolving conflicts. It was heartwarming to see the campers put these lessons into practice. As we tucked the campers in for the night, we couldn’t help but feel proud of their growth and the connections they’re forming. We’re already looking forward to tomorrow’s theme: dress like a staff member day! Can you imagine the creative outfits and laughter that will bring?
