Fun Start to Summer 2017
What an exciting past few days! We would like to officially welcome our first international staff of the season (picture from left to right). Laura is from a tiny town called Walla-Walla, in Australia. She enjoys archery, and is looking forward to teaching Kupugani campers her impressive skills. Daniel is also from Australia. Back home, he resides in a town called Yass. His favorite color is yellow. Lee is a returning staff member; he is from Durham, England. He likes to travel, and plans on being in the Canadian mountains in the winter. Debbie, from Chicago, USA, stopped by this week to help out; she was previously a Kupugani counselor in 2014. She loves nature and is happy to take a break from the Windy City.
We had tons of fun over the past few days with 3rd and 4th grade student campers from the British International School in Chicago. Laura and Daniel led an extra difficult challenge hike, but the campers made it through without a scratch. What a success! Gaga was an instant hit with the campers, unsurprisingly. They learned how to play 9 Square in the Air, and some archery basics. They left camp Thursday morning with great memories and newfound confidence.
