A Great Cabin Sunday at Girls Camp
Today started with the camp waking up from their outdoor sleep after their night under the stars. Cabin Day! Each cabin group enjoyed a sleep-in, with a “lazy breakfast” anywhere between 8-10 am. Breakfast was a surprise treat–delicious donuts! Each cabin had their folks switch beds or between cabins so everyone could start the week in a different spot. After breakfast, we had our community gathering Morning Circle, ending with camp pictures. Today’s lunch was a cabin hike and picnic lunch in different parts of the camp. During their day, each cabin worked on their song and skits, which were performed after dinner. Cabin activities today were cabin choice and not regular camptivities–to help the campers and counselors bond. The second camptivity was spent as a whole camp–waterfront activities! Mud volleyball, dam jumping, waterfall, river stomp, and lake play were on the agenda on a gorgeous, sunny Sunday. The evening activity had the cabins performing their skits and songs for the whole camp in the Rec Hall. Finally, we were able to enjoy a rousing game of Ship Island–traditionally held on the initial day, but postponed until our bubble proved itself in week one! We finished off a great Cabin Sunday with the Goodnight Song, after another amazing day at camp.
