Day of the Queen Bees
On this Fantastic Friday, we honored our Queen Bees at camp. Though we enjoyed blended camptivities, Kupugani stayed true to our values of intentional inclusiveness, meaning the girls gained a bit of extra positive attention today! In other words, only girl-identifying speakers (campers and counselors) led us through camp-wide transitions between this-or-that (that’s right, move over Kevin!). After our fourth round of COVID-free testing, for the last couple of days, our kiddos have been able to enjoy more mixing between cabins and tables.
This morning, the campers headed to breakfast – bagels, bacon, and eggs. After breakfast, they did camp chores to help keep our community clean and healthful. In teams today, we worked on a conflict resolution module by doing I-Statements and Clean Ups. Free to Learn was next for about an hour. After lunch, we had our second mail handout of the session during lunch. Two cabin activities later and the campers were ready for dinner. The evening activity was Four Corners and 9 square/Gaga. Four Corners is an activity that focuses on different social stances and gets the campers opinions. A provocative end to another great day at camp!
