Magnificent Monday at Blended Two
On this Magnificent Monday, it’s our first day liberalizing our COVID-19 bubble (given our infection-free state after our second round of in-camp PCR tests). Campers started off the day with the community gathering, talking about the idea of self-image, empowerment, and relationships as the topic of the day. Breakfast was pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and fruit! Cabins did their daily chores before splitting off into teams and completing fun team building activities like “people-to-people” and “relationship goals.” After teams, campers enjoyed Free to Learn in the Walnut Grove, with a chance to explore, hang out with those in different cabins and play games. Lunch was Sloppy Jans, before Siesta. For the first time this session, the campers then chose their own camptivities, from bench building, zen time, hair braiding, rock climbing, biking, pool, lake play, social justice track, river walk, archery, and crate stacking. Dinner was Miss Natasha’s delicious Sweet and Sour Chicken! The evening activities were age-split, with the younger campers doing “gameboree” and the older campers an activity called “forced choices.” The Goodnight Song brought the camp together before heading back to cabins for some cabin activities and some well-earned sleep!
