Today was full of fun between a session of Free to Learn, Camptivities, and an evening of Blob Tag, Sand Volleyball and 9 Square in the Air! The boys definitely keep us going! Tomorrow is the infamous counselor vs. camper All Camp Soccer Game…. WHO WILL WIN?!?!?!?!
Today our lovely campers enjoyed a Sand Volleyball Tournament! The Counselors triumphed once again over a campers vs. counselors game! The evening wrapped up with a rousing campfire full of songs and S’mores! Off to bed to rest up for another full day of fun!
Our campers enjoyed a lovely Monday full of team building initiatives, camptivities such as Cooking with Tash, and then ended the evening with Rainbow Tag! With the lovely Midwestern sky as the backdrop to Rainbow Tag, campers tried to find each paint color before the person who was “It” washed off all of their paint!! Such a lovely day with an early bedtime to get up for another great day at Kupugani!
Today, unfortunately, did not go down in history for the campers… The campers lost a close match to the counselors in the counselors vs. campers soccer match. This year was very close with the counselors taking an early lead in the first half, but they couldn’t hold onto it as the campers evened it up before half time. Our staff training began today and we are quite excited about what the summer holds! We started off the morning with some fun icebreakers and learning of camp songs, including Princess Pat! We can’t wait to gather again for more training of our wonderful staff members!
Camp Kupugani was full of exploration today between camptivities, Teams, and evening programs. Our campers participated in Lake Play, Pool, Fishing, and Mud Volleyball. The boys also dabbled in some Canoeing and Bench Building too in order to channel their inner Bear Grylls here! After a most appetizing and scrumptious dinner of BBQ Chicken courtesy of Miss Natasha, the boys participated in a very thought-provoking activity called Cross the Line. Cackles of laughter and spews of Kupugani songs fill the camp as the boys are settling into the camp routine! The joy continued throughout yesterday with camptivities of a River Walk/Float, Archery, and Pool along with the choice of either Tie-Dye, Biking or Chill Time! The campers channeling their inner Robin Hoods all made it within inches of the Bullseye which makes us wonder if we have a few professional archers in our midst! Good Evening! Tuesday was filled with trips for our 13, 14, and 15 year-olds to further connect with their respective groups. Our 13 year-olds pitched tents in a distant part of camp for their very own night under the stars and campfire. Our 14 year-olds headed off to a state park to also camp out and spend the following morning exploring the park’s natural caves.
