An Empowering Cabin Sunday
CABIN SUNDAY QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.” – Flavia Weedn
Today started off with the camp waking up from their out of doors sleep after their night under the stars. It’s Cabin Day! Cabins enjoyed a sleep in given lazy breakfast anywhere between 8-10am. Breakfast was a surprise treat–delicious donuts! Each cabin had their folks switch beds so everyone could start off the week in a different spot. After breakfast, they had our Morning Circle ending with camp pictures. Today’s lunch was a cabin hike and picnic lunch in different parts of camp. During their lunch time, each cabin worked on their song and skits, which was performed after dinner. Cabin activities today were cabin choice and not regular camptivities–to help the campers and counselors bond. Camptivities included playing card games, games, bracelet making etc. and were spent outside as a group. The second camptivity was spent as a whole camp–waterfront activities! Mud volleyball, dam jumping, waterfall, river stomp, and lake play were on the agenda on a sunny, warm Sunday. The evening activity had the cabins performing their skits and songs for the whole camp in the Rec Hall. Overall, it was another great day at camp!!
