A Marvelous Monday
On this Marvelous Monday, the campers enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes and sausage. In our teams, we played games, talked about different leadership styles, and took quizzes to help us determine which leadership styles fit our personalities best. After we finished, the campers had their Free to Learn time. Some of them played 9-Square, some made friendship bracelets, and some relaxed and chatted with their friends. For lunch we had left over pizza, sloppy joes, and watermelon. Unfortunately, we did not have the best weather today here at camp, so the campers had to skip their first camptivity. However, they still had fun coming up with skits and performances and sharing them with one another in the rec hall during that time. Between the first and second camptivity, our thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen year olds and their counselors left for their overnight trips. The thirteen year olds went camping on our soccer field, the fourteen year olds went caving, and the fifteen year olds went canoeing. The campers who remained on camp went about their day like normal. After snack time at La Tienda, the rain stopped and they went on to their second camptivity. For dinner we had sweet and sour chicken, and in the evening we had our fourth campfire – this time with S’mores! What a wonderful way to end day 8!
