Backwards Day
On this Wacky Wednesday, the campers participated in backwards day. This included having breakfast for dinner and vice versa. Also wearing clothes backward was part of the fun activities on this day. After the breakfast of chicken and waffles, they broke into teams. Today’s module/ discussion was Social Awareness. After a social awareness discussion and activity, other team-building activities included lap sits, Yurt Circle, and Willow in the Wind. After lunch, the campers got to pick their activities and do them. After the activities, dinner was served. The evening activity […]
Marvelous Monday
On this Marvelous Monday, the campers had their first covid bubble “normal” day! This involved being able to choose camptivities individually instead of doing them with their cabins. After waking up and eating a breakfast of pancakes, the campers broke into their team groups. Free to Learn was next (where the campers enjoy the freedom to interact safely in supervised unstructured time on the top field), followed by lunch. Following Siesta, campers got to choose their two camptivities for the afternoon, interspersed with La Tienda time to grab a treat […]
Cabin Sunday Fun!
Today was a great cabin Sunday, with the cabin groups enjoying a sleep in (after their Night Under the Stars). After a lazy breakfast (in pajamas), we took cabin and group pictures, then enjoyed a hike to different beautiful spot around camp for a picnic lunch. The cabin groups had self-chosen activities then Siesta, followed by lake activities, before coming back up to complete their cabin songs and skits practice. A dinner of Cimino’s pizza followed by the skit and song performances, plus sparklers and red white and blue popsicles […]
Super Saturday!
On this Super Saturday, the campers defeated the counselors in a close match in the staff vs campers soccer game. The campers took an immediate lead but couldn’t hold onto it as the counselors evened it up before half time. In the second half, despite a frenzied comeback to tie the game at 2-2, the counselors eventually succumbed to the campers’ relentless pace and fell behind 4-2 with not much time left. Even given a spirited last-minute comeback spree, the counselors couldn’t quite find the back of the net to […]
Fantastic Friday!
On this Fantastic Friday, we had another covid testing day to ensure our covid bubble. All the tests came back negative so we can begin to relax the social distancing/mask guidelines of camp. After the tests were collected, the campers headed to breakfast which was English muffins. After breakfast, they broke into camp chores to tidy up the facilities. In teams today, we worked on our final conflict resolution module of the session by doing I-Statements and Clean Ups. Free to learn was next for about an hour. After lunch, […]
Terrific Thursday – July 1, 2021
On this Terrific Thursday, the campers started it out like any other normal day at camp by waking up and heading down to morning circle/ breakfast. After some camp chores, the campers broke into their teams to do some trust activities. Those included lap sits, standups, and lineups which all work on communication and trust. After teams they did a nature search and swatch, which is looking for a variety of things in nature. A lunch of all-beef hot dogs satisfied the campers hunger. After a rejuvenating Siesta, the campers […]
A Wonderful Wednesday!
On this Wonderful Wednesday, the campers had a fun pajama day. We also had our first covid testing day in the morning. After testing we had a nice breakfast then went into teams. After teams we were free to learn for the campers. Free to learn is a free time to explore an area of camp without close counsellor supervision. They had that for about an hour then headed to lunch. Lunch today was pulled pork and mac and cheese. After the delicious meal, the campers headed to Siesta. Two […]
Terrific Tuesday at Blended One!
Today was the real beginning of a “normal” schedule. Started off by waking up at 7 to shower/brush teeth before morning circle and breakfast. Breakfast today was bagels and eggs. After breakfast, we broke into cabins to do chores. Teams were next for about an hour to work on learning even more background information about the teams. After teams we headed into an AM activity in cabin groups which could be slacklining, nature walk, challenge hike, 9 square, pool archery, or arts and crafts. After a lunch of chicken sandwiches […]
A Fun First Full Day of Camp
Today, we started off by waking up in the cabins after a good night’s sleep. The campers took a shower and brushed their teeth before heading down to our morning circle. We went over the quote of the day, sang our morning song, and then dismissed it to go eat. Breakfast today was pancakes and sausage with grapes. After the campers enjoyed their meal, they broke off into their cabins to do camp chores like cleaning the amenities and whatnot. When done with the chores, they broke off into their […]
We’re Back! A Great Introduction to Blended Session One 2021!
Today we started off with a drive through check in to get everything sorted out. Whether that includes meds or baggage we got it all sorted out. After the campers were dropped off, we took them to their cabins to get settled into the sleeping arrangements/cabin mates. They played some name games for about 30 minutes to get familiar with each other and break the ice. We then got into a big group circle in the top field and went over the 6 core values of Kupugani, went over some rules, […]

Check out the article by Barking Up the Wrong Tree here (https://www.bakadesuyo.com/2021/04/exercise/) and see a quick summary below. Exercise is not natural. Neither is being sedentary.
