How to Make Your Kids Amazing

Camp Kupugani is our Midwest summer camp located in the beautiful wilderness of Northwest Illinois.  We know your children are already pretty great; here is an article to help your children be even a bit more amazinger (that is totally a word…okay, it is now?). Check out the article by Barking Up the Wrong Tree here and see a quick summary below.

  • Help Your Kiddos with Balance

    • How to get your child to stay in or get back to green?
      • Don’t dismiss emotions
      • This distances children from their emotions
  • Resilience is a Critical Developmental Characteristic
    • Expand the green zone
    • Avoid “bubble wrapping” your children
    • Sometimes children need to struggle
  • Help Your Child Maximize Insight
    • Help your children become aware of their feelings
    • Label their feelings
    • Help them verbalize how they feel
  • Empathy is an Important Characteristic to Foster
    • Behavior is communication and discipline is teaching
    • Draw attention to what others are experiencing
    • Use bedtime story time to start the conversation

Everyone…was just so, so personable, kind, and the kind of person I want
my [child] looking up to and spending time with.

[My daughter’s] face lights up when she speaks about camp, it’s a priceless experience.

Kenya P.

I have never come in contact with such a wonderful group of people at a camp before. Everyone did an outstanding job, the camp was so organized, it was unbelievable.

Joe M.

She absolutely loves the camp, the staff, and all the friends she makes there. I consider Kupugani to be a big influence in helping her grow and expand her mind each summer.
