A Super Saturday at Blended Two
On this Super Saturday, the counselors and campers played a closely contested match in the staff vs. campers soccer game. The staff took an immediate lead, but couldn’t hold onto it as the campers tied it up soon thereafter. In the second half, the campers took the lead 2-1, and held off the counselors’ desperate efforts to tie the game. Finally, with no time left on the watch of the (humble, yet excellent) referee, a penalty kick was called against the campers. Despite a heroic effort by the camper goalie, the counselors scored a beautiful penalty to end the game in a well-earned tie. The campers already have the whiteboard out, writing down plays and tactics for next year’s game. There was tremendous effort and athleticism from both sides. Sportsmanship was incredible, with high fives and “good games” exchanged from both sides. Despite the campers’ disappointment at not getting a full victory, the Kupugani blended camp had a very pleasant day, ending with a night under the stars and a night hike. Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!
