A Great Last Full Day at Girls Camp
Today was another exciting day at our summer camp! The campers woke up bright and early for cabin clean-up, followed by our daily community gathering. As always, after singing “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With Me,” we kicked things off with our inspiring Quote of the Day: “Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” – Joel A. Barker. This set the tone for a day filled with action and purpose.
After a hearty breakfast of bagels, scrambled eggs, and fruit, the kids dove into morning team-building initiatives. These fostered cooperation and strengthened friendships. Lunchtime brought a variety of sandwiches to refuel our energetic campers. Subsequently, everyone enjoyed a peaceful siesta, preparing them for the afternoon’s adventures.
Afternoon Activities and Evening Wind-Down
The afternoon was packed with varied camptivities, with some kids channeling their creativity through bench painting, while others explored nature on a riverwalk, and our socially conscious campers engaged in the Social Justice track. Later, everyone cooled off with a lively pool party. The day’s main meal was a delicious serving of Chicken Kiev, stir fry veggies, and rice, which the campers devoured with gusto.
As the day wound down, we gathered for our closing campfire – a perfect end to a perfect day and perfect session. The campers then returned to their cabins, where they participated in a meaningful debrief about re-entry to the “real world.” In a touching tradition, cabin flags were divided among campers as keepsakes. Finally, it was time for lights out, with everyone drifting off to sleep with memories of another fantastic day at camp.
A Nice End to the Session
Today’s activities exemplified our camp’s commitment to fostering growth, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. From team-building exercises to creative pursuits and thoughtful discussions, every moment was an opportunity for learning and fun. As we reflect on this day, we can’t help but wonder: what amazing stories will the campers go home with tomorrow?
