Our Saudi Campers Traveled the Farthest to Come to Camp
At Camp Kupugani, we are excited to welcome campers who travel to camp from all over the world. This year, returning camper brothers from Saudi Arabia again traveled the farthest to join us. Their journey to camp highlights their family’s commitment to personal development and intentional parenting.
The Journey to Camp Kupugani
The brothers’ adventure began thousands of miles away. Traveling from the Middle East, their journey was long and filled with anticipation. Despite the distance, their parents know Camp Kupugani provides an enriching experience, fostering independence, resilience, and cultural understanding.
Embracing New Experiences
At Camp Kupugani, we believe in the power of new experiences. For the older brother, his initial travel to camp two years ago meant engaging in activities he had never tried before. Whether it’s rock climbing, canoeing, or team-building exercises, every moment is an opportunity for growth. These experiences helped him expand his comfort zone, building confidence and adaptability. It was so transformative, that he returned the next summer (and the one after that) with his younger brother.
Cultural Exchange
But it’s not just about them. Their presence enriches the experience for every camper. Imagine the cultural exchange and new perspectives they bring! We have a mini United Nations right here at camp.
Embracing Diversity
This is where intentional parenting comes into play. By choosing a diverse camp environment, you’re helping your child become a global citizen. Our campers learn to appreciate differences and find common ground with peers from all walks of life.
Building Lifelong Friendships
One of the most rewarding aspects of camp is the friendships formed. The brothers have made friends from varied backgrounds. These connections are vital for their social development, teaching them empathy, communication, and collaboration. Intentional parents value these relationships, knowing they enrich their children’s lives.
Building Independence
Moreover, having your child travel to camp–whether from across town or across the world, fosters independence. They’ll learn to navigate new situations, make decisions, and solve problems on their own.
Lifelong Skills
These are skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. From making new friends to trying new activities, every day at camp is an opportunity for growth.
Supporting Intentional Parenting
At Camp Kupugani, we support parents who are intentional about their child’s development. Our programs are designed to cultivate leadership, self-awareness, and cultural competency. By creating a supportive and challenging environment, we help children grow into well-rounded individuals. Our mission aligns with the values of intentional parents, providing a space where children can thrive.
The Impact of Distance
The distance the brothers traveled to attend Camp Kupugani is a testament to the value their parents place on personal development. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best growth opportunities lie far from home. We are honored to be part of their journey and see how camp impacts them. We’re also reminded of the power of camp to bring people together. It’s a place where distances shrink, friendships form, and personal growth flourishes. Isn’t it amazing how a summer at camp can shape a child’s worldview and help them become their best selves? How far would you go to help your child develop into the best version of themselves?
