Sunday Cabin Funday at Kupugani Girls Camp
Today was another exciting day at Camp Kupugani! The campers started their morning with a lazy breakfast, enjoying donuts, cereal, and Gogurt. Afterward, they gathered for a community circle where they heard the inspiring quote of the day:
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.” -Flavia Weedn
Following the morning circle, the campers posed for group and cabin pictures. Then, they embarked on a cabin hike and enjoyed a picnic lunch. During this time, they also worked on creating and practicing their cabin songs and skits. The songs incorporated familiar tunes with lyrics about Camp Kupugani, while the skits were themed as Camp Kupugani commercials. Later in the afternoon, each cabin chose their own non-camptivity activity. This time was spent outside the cabins, allowing for creative bonding experiences.
Afternoon Adventures and Evening Entertainment
The afternoon was filled with more exciting activities. Campers visited La Tienda and then headed to the waterfront for community activities. They enjoyed mud volleyball, dam jumping, lake play, and exploring the waterfall. Later, they had more time to practice their cabin songs and skits. For dinner, everyone savored delicious Mimmo’s Pizza with ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
The evening was capped off with a lively performance of the cabin skits and songs, followed by “Rec 911s.” Before lights out, campers returned to their cabins for some Life Stories sharing. It was a day packed with fun, creativity, and community building. As parents, don’t you wish you could have been there to see your children shine?
